Join the Hudson Valley Blues Society!
A membership or sponsorship helps support our year-round programming for Hudson Valley musicians, venues, and audiences. The 2023 Annual Blues Blowout was held in November at the Towne Crier in Beacon, with award-winning acts Kevin Burt and the Billy Price Band. We also kicked off our Blues in the Schools Programming in November with musician Kevin Burt educating children in the Ossining School District on the history and teaching of blues music. We look forward to presenting more programming throughout the year in other districts. Our monthly Blues Jams on the 1st Wednesday of the month at The Garage at Lucy’s in Pleasantville, and the 4th Wednesday of the month at the Studio Around the Corner in Brewster, are great for local musicians of all levels to play and network. Our partnership continues with Live Music @Carmine’s Deli and Cafe in Elmsford, and Uncle Cheef in Brewster, bringing in great acts for a new “blues” audience and growing our membership. On June 8th and 15th we will hold our “Road to Memphis” Challenge at Carmine’s Deli, where local solo/duo and band acts will compete for a spot to represent the Hudson Valley in Memphis, in January 2025. Also, on Saturday, September 14th will be the “Up the River Blues Festival” held in Ossining, NY. This will be the biggest blues event in Ossining since BB King played for the prisoners at Sing-Sing Prison in 1972. This is only a small portion of what we have accomplished over the years. We thank our community for their support and for helping to “Keep the Blues Alive in the Valley.” Please consider joining us for the fun! |
